Under the Question
Not much is known
about this Krolvin inquisition, but according to the
reactions of the Krolvin when
threatened with “going under the question”,
I assume that it must
not be a pleasant experience.
Here is some of the
comments that the Krolvin forces
have made concerning “The
Question”.
The Reactions of the
Krolvin
To “The Question”
The emissary commanded
Sankir to return with him to the war council and
undergo the question, for Sankir had been accused of
dealings in black magic forbidden to the krolvin.
Galdkar says, "When we return to the homeland,
you will be given a chance to answer to the
question."
Sankir harshly asks, "You... would take me under
the question?"
Sankir peers quizzically at Galdkar.
Galdkar says, "But you
will be given a chance to respond."
Sankir harshly says,
"A chance! The
question is death to all."
Sankir harshly says,
"You sentence me."
On Arkdaln and Freeing Trudok of the question
Trudok says, "He is insane."
Trudok asks, "He thinks to bring the fight back
to the council?"
Trudok says, "He thinks he is more powerful then
the council."
Trudok says, "He is a tamed ape in my
eyes."
Trudok says, "And him
stepping before the Council and threatening them would be something I would
enjoy watching."
Trudok says, "He would be seen as mad."
Trudok says, "And that would free me of the
question."
The brutality and bloodlust of the krolvin
are recorded at length by legions of dead citizens from every existing nation.
The krolvin are so vicious that they will put their
own people beneath the question, a process only mindless hulks survive.
Moradga put to the Question
An emissary from the krolvin nation arrived to give new instructions to Bloodfist Sankir,
second-in-command to the Czag. The emissary informed Sankir that Moradga had been put
to the question over her failing to secure the island with sufficient speed,
and, as a result, she would not be returning to Kharam-Dzu.
What the Krolvin Think of as Forbidden
Galdkar says, "You have,
it seems, engaged in practices unworthy of a Krolvin warrior."
Krigh glances at Sankir.
Galdkar says, "Black
arts."
Klaagh nods to Galdkar.
Gkig blinks.
Sankir slowly empties his
lungs.
The
Demonic magic they were most likely talking about is the 'Bloodfist"
abilities that Sankir has acquired, where he can
project shadows of himself to fight on Teras.
In
other words, what you have been fighting so far is not the real Sankir. His real body is somewhere very safe.
That
is why his body rises in a puff of smoke when he dies instead of getting
dragged off.
Sankir decays instantly into smoke and floats away.
Sankir's body caves in and turns to smoke.
Sankir harshly says,
"The comet magics are nothing."
Sankir harshly says, "Yer
magics,
are nothing."
You say, "bah"
You say, "most your power comes from the comet"
Sankir harshly says, "None of mine does."
Sankir grins wickedly.
What manner of magics
is so evil that the Krolvin forbid them?
Murp describes the Bloodfist
Sankir is a Bloodfist, one of the more powerful Krolvin. The others
respect his power, and have told me that I had better respect him as well.
While I was in the tent, he told me that my blood would only make him stronger,
and spoke of "needing another sample" and said in passing that
"this one will serve the bloodfist....personally"
and something like "your blood will be used against those you love".
I do not know if he intends to make my arm and leg into clubs to bludgeon us to
death, or if he somehow derives power from the blood or something. I suspect it
is the latter, although the first idea might have some merit. (As Witnessed by Murp)
