Clan Leader Eregrek Borthuum

Physical Appearance

He is of average size for a dwarf. His green eyes burrow deeply into whatever they come to rest upon. His black hair is short and styled into spikes that point to the back of his head. He is wearing a small leather pouch, a pair of grey gloves studded with small chunks of mithril, a grey cape, a glaes-banded mithril shield, a pair of armored boots, some well-crafted mithril half plate and a ticket pouch.

Eregrek's Power

Eregrek swings a sword at a krolvin plunderer!
AS: +1130 vs DS: +398 with AvD: +11 + d100 roll: +3 = +746
... and hits for 135 points of damage!
Wicked slash slices open the krolvin plunderer's chest!
Heart and lungs pureed!
Sickening!
The krolvin plunderer vainly struggles to rise, then goes still.

Eregrek Removes the Head from the Spike

Eregrek says, "The krolvin will be dealt with."

Eregrek says, "All in good time."
Eregrek says, "When we are ready to defeat them."

Eregrek glances at Sente.

Eregrek says, "You ask alot of questions..."

Sente nods to Eregrek.
Eregrek says, "About important things."

Sente confidently says, "We're here to win this war."

Tayvin glances at an impaled head on a spike.
Sente confidently says, "And I certainly can't do it single handedly."

Eregrek says, "Then be ready to win it."

Tayvin glances at an impaled head on a spike

The perpetually grimacing head of an old dwarf has been securely impaled upon a long steel spike, which is jammed deep into the ground. The dwarf's brown eyes stare ahead vacantly and his once-ruddy skin is now sallow and bruised. His cropped white hair is blood-streaked and tousled and his slackened, plump face and neatly-trimmed beard are spattered with blood. A knife pinning a sheaf of parchment protrudes from the victim's skull; on it, written in blood in a clumsy hand, is the name, "RalGuRan".

Eregrek glances at an impaled head on a spike.

Tayvin says, "Poe Walguran deserbs a decent burial."
Eregrek says, "Blah."

Eregrek says, "I'll see to that, myself."

Tayvin nods to Eregrek.

Railien cocks his head at Eregrek.

Eregrek picks up an impaled head on a spike.

Eregrek shakes his head.

Eregrek sighs.

Clan Leader Eregrek just went east.

Colgan Cures Eregrek of the Krolvin Worms

Colgan says, "If the prince has been made victim of the soul stealer worms, I may have something to aid him."

Colgan asks, "Does anybody have any spirits? Alcohol?"

You remove a flask of sournote whisky from in your old burlap bag.
You offer your sournote whisky to Colgan, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

Colgan has accepted your offer and is now holding a flask of sournote whisky.

Colgan says, "This is a powerful spirit. Good."
Colgan pours some whisky into his burlap bag.

Colgan shakes his burlap pouch vigorously for a moment. He then squeezes it, mashing together the leaves and liquid inside. A harsh, acidic smell begins to permeate the area.

Colgan roughly seizes Eregrek's head with one of his bluish hands.

Eregrek struggles, choking and coughing, trying to pull away from the reeking pouch at his face.

Eregrek jerks violently away and collapses. As he twitches on the ground, a thin line of drool escapes his lips.

Colgan says, "Hold still, Eregrek."
Colgan says, "For your own safety."

A few small, segmented worms wriggle weakly out of Eregrek's nose and ears. For a moment they writhe feebly on the ground beside his head, then they go still.

Colgan says, "Yes, worms."

Colgan pokes at the worms with the toe of his boot. He then steps on them, smashing them into a pale, orangish paste.

Colgan asks, "Eregrek...are you awake?"

Eregrek blinks.
Eregrek asks, "Do I look awake?"

Colgan asks, "What do you remember, Eregrek?"

Eregrek says, "I remember a.....headache."
Eregrek gags.
Eregrek sits down.
Eregrek says, "Worms...."
Eregrek asks, "Worms...what?"

Colgan says, "Worms. Undoubtedly infested with worms. By Sankir, I should say."

Colgan Meets with Eregrek

Colgan just arrived.

The cowl of Colgan's voluminous eelskin cloak conceals his features. The cloak does not hide his slim, long-fingered hands, which are tinted a pale blue. The hands would be elegant if not for the series of fine scars which are laced across his knuckles.
He is wearing a salt-stained eelskin cloak, some dark brigandine armor, a pair of soft leather boots, a wire-bound tan leather sheath, a metal-banded tooled leather shield, and a black eelskin belt.

Colgan says, "It is my pleasure to meet you Lord Eregrek."

Colgan Gives Eregrek the Waraxe

Colgan asks, "Are you willing to strike the krolvin, and strike them hard?"

Eregrek nods.

Colgan draws his broad-bladed waraxe. It makes a strange sound as it slides from his cloak, like a whispered curse in the sharp krolvin tongue.

Colgan says, "This weapon was forged by my kin, Eregrek."

Eregrek asks, "Who be ya kin?"

Colgan says, "It is a weapon of great power."
Colgan says, "Who I am is of no concern."
Colgan says, "All you need to know is that I am an enemy of Sankir."
Colgan says, "I seek Sankir to slay him, to avenge a wrong done to my family and my people."
Colgan says, "If you, lord prince, are willing to take the battle to Sankir and his forces, I will give you this weapon."

Eregrek nods to Colgan.

Colgan offers Eregrek a broad-bladed waraxe.

Eregrek says, "Ya long-winded."
Eregrek accepts Colgan's broad-bladed waraxe.
Eregrek waves his broad-bladed waraxe in an arc around his head.
Tiny flames flicker up and down the edge of the blade.

Colgan says, "If you do not use it to fight against the krolvin forces, Eregrek, I shall return and take the weapon from your hands."

Eregrek chuckles.
Eregrek says, "There's not much chance of me not hurting them."
Eregrek says, "But the thought of you taking anything from me is amusing."
Eregrek says, "We need to find some krolvin..."

You ask, "Colgan, you wish Eregrek to use the weapon specifically against Sankir or the krolvin still in this town?"

Colgan says, "Eregrek should use the weapon to free his island of krolvin."
Colgan says, "I will deal with Sankir."

Colgan draws his black-bladed falchion. It makes a strange sound as it slides from his sheath, like a whispered curse in the sharp krolvin tongue.

Colgan slings a metal-banded tooled leather shield off from over his shoulder.
Colgan exclaims, "To arms!"

Colgan closes his eyes briefly and utters a soft prayer in a harsh language with krolvin inflections. Veins stand out, dark against the blue tint of his skin and power appears to surge through his body!

With a nod of his head, Colgan turns and quietly walks away.

The Waraxe

Colgan draws his broad-bladed waraxe. It makes a strange sound as it slides from his cloak, like a whispered curse in the sharp krolvin tongue.

Eregrek waves his broad-bladed waraxe in an arc around his head.
Tiny flames flicker up and down the edge of the blade.

Eregrek strikes the dead body of Krigh. Flames erupt along the blade of his waraxe! The flames engulf Krigh's body, turning it into a crackling, hissing pillar of fire!
Dark, greasy smoke stings your eyes.

Eregrek raps his knuckles against the blade of his broad-bladed waraxe.
The tiny sparks that fly off the edge of the blade look like fireflies.

A bright flame runs along the edge of the waraxe!

Tongues of flame ripple along the blade of Eregrek's waraxe!

Spirals of orange flame trail along Eregrek's waraxe!
As he strikes, incandescent tongues of flame snake out at his target!

Eregrek says, "The issue of the axe is finalized."

Eregrek says, "No one else will be holding this weapon."

Mistomeer says, "I think that axe has power over you, Eregrek."

Eregrek glances at Mistomeer.

Mistomeer says, "Prove me wrong then."

Eregrek grins at Mistomeer.

Eregrek says, "It's more fun to listen to your fantasies."

Mistomeer glances at Eregrek.

Eregrek says, "The issue of the axe is finalized."

Mistomeer says, "It's final, it does indeed possess a power over you."

Eregrek says, "Trust me or not. I'm going to see all the krolvin here dead."

Dhisear asks, "finalized?"

Dhisear says, "ya almost sound like one of the krols"

You hear the ghostly voice of Clintmire ask, "When the Krols are dealt their final blow, you will take that axe to the lava flows and throw it in, will you not Eregrek?"

Eregrek blinks.

Eregrek says, "We'll see."

Dhisear asks, "yes Eregrek can ye promise tha?"

Eregrek says, "But nothing is done until the krolvin are gone."

Eregrek says, "I have heard reports that the krolvin are invading River's Rest."

Eregrek says, "Perhaps when we are free, someone from there should have it."

Eregrek says, "Fine."

Eregrek says, "I'll have it studied."

Eregrek says, "By scholars."

Eregrek says, "And other people that think they know what they are doing."

Eregrek says, "The Borthuum Clan will handle this internally."

Eregrek says, "As soon as I know something, the rest of you will know

Eregrek asks, "Fair enough?"

Eregrek says, "Good then. Anyone that annoys me about this until we know something is going to get some blunt object shoved into their skull."

Eregrek says, "Ya givin me a headache listenin to this nonsense."

Eregrek says, "Let me enlighten you all."

Eregrek says, "Let me enlighten you all."

Dhisear says, "mayhaps Eregrek maybe they do"

Eregrek asks, "Are you all listening?"

Dhisear nods.

Mistomeer nods to Eregrek.

Iciliess nods to Eregrek.

Jurgann listens carefully to Eregrek.

Eregrek says, "Krolvin try to kill us.”

Eregrek says, "THat's fact number one."

Eregrek says, "Fact number two....We kill them."

Eregrek says, "Or I do..."

Eregrek shrugs.

Eregrek says, "Same thing."

Eregrek says, "Fact three. I have a weapon to finish them off. It's a proven weapon."

Dhisear shudders.

Eregrek says, "Fact four. This is my damn island and I'm tired of the krolvin being on it. And I damn well intend to see them gone and any damn conspirators along with them."

Jurgann grins at Eregrek.

Eregrek says, "If you don't like it. Go side with the krol."

Eregrek makes plans to visit Ta'Illistim
An edited log by Trachten

Eregrek says, "Now, I have some things to attend to before I leave for Ta'Illistim."

You ask, "Yes, how will you 'set things right' in Ta'Illistim?"

Eregrek glances at you.

Eregrek grins.

Eregrek winks.

Eregrek says, "My own way."

Eregrek laughs!

Eregrek says, "Now, go, have some ale...or something."

Gothique asks, "How do you intend to right things with the elves, Eregrek?"

Eregrek says, "In my own...way."

Eregrek says, "That is all."

Eregrek exclaims, "Stop worrying!"

Eregrek exclaims, "Now!"

Eregrek exclaims, "It's an order!"

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"Good work citizens."

You hear the faint thoughts of Gothique echo in your mind:
"Have your people studdied it yet?"

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"Don't worry about it."

You hear the faint thoughts of Faeryfire echo in your mind:
"don't worry about it? you say you are headed to my home with that thing and you say don't worry about it?"

You hear the faint thoughts of Syenite echo in your mind:
"we are worried about it dwarf, if you plan to turn against us elves"

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"You fools."

You hear the faint thoughts of Faeryfire echo in your mind:
"Eregrek, you banned us from your godforsaken rock when you needed us most...and now you are telling us you are heading to our home?"

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"Yes, that's exactly where I'm going."

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"If one dwarf scares you elves that much, maybe you need to toughen up a bit."

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"I'm not taking an army or anything. Just a small escort."

You hear the faint thoughts of Eregrek echo in your mind:
"You people keep wanting the axe. Maybe you are the influenced ones."

Regyy quickly says, "Such fools"

Eregrek says, "I agree."

You ask, "Who are you taking with you to Ta'Illistim, Eregrek?"

Eregrek says, "A small escort..."

Eregrek says, "An army or two..."

Eregrek starts chortling.

Garredd asks, "for what purpose?"

Eregrek says, "Ohhh...."

You hear the voice of Meffridus say, "More people would trust you Eregrek if you'd simply just tell us what your plans are..."

Eregrek says, "My plan is to go talk."

You ask, "With the queen?"

Eregrek says, "Yes."

You hear the voice of Meffridus ask, "So no killing involved?"

Eregrek says, "No killing there...."

Faeryfire asks, "and what shall you discuss with the queen?"

Eregrek says, "None of your business."

Faeryfire asks, "you plan on no killing yet you are taking an army?"

Eregrek says, "I was joking..."

Eregrek says, "Uptight..."

Despite the gore and congealed ichor liberally spattering the severed head, there is no mistaking the features for those of a middle-aged female krolvin. Carved into the forehead, standing out in weeping red against the blue are the words:
"Akhri, Czag of Nothing."

Eregrek accepts Colgan's broad-bladed waraxe

Descriptions

Eregrek shows you his broad-bladed waraxe. There is a barbaric splendor to this broad-bladed waraxe. It is clearly a killing tool, not a decorative weapon. A length of dark sea thrak hide, stained from use, is wrapped around the oak haft. The broad head of the waraxe has been honed to a fearsome edge. You also see a small enchanter's mark.(Shown to Regyy by Eregrek)

The Speculation of a Half-Krolvin Race

Physical Appearance and History

While it is true that a number of half-krolvin are the random result of Krolvin raids on coastal towns and villages, the majority of the race are the result of a breeding program by a specific krolvin, who went by the name of Krintaur.

It was Krintaur's hope that he would breed an army of half-krolvin at his command ... a hope that eventually led to his exile on a rocky, inhospitable island far from his krolvin home. The colony of half-breeds flourished on the small island, but eventually their numbers began to expand beyond what the small island could accommodate.

Half-krolvin most often wear their heritage in their bodies, an undeniable badge of identification. Most half-krolvin have pale skin, but their skin tones are within the range considered "normal" on a human, except that they often support a blue or blue-grey tinge, as you see on a human who has been overexposed to the cold.

They also tend to be hairier than the average human, and much hairier than the average elf. Many half-krolvin tend to have disproportionately long arms ending in long hands with elongated fingers and swollen-looking knuckles. Often the elegance and delicacy of their fingers is remarked on, along with some comment as to how the swollen knuckles mar the beauty of the hand.

Also, in profile it becomes apparent that the foreheads of half-krolvins tend to slope backward into the hairline and they often have a concave chin shape. The most obvious attribute that is used to prove half-krolvin heritage is a hair growth from the top four vertebrae of the spine. This is obviously easy to cover with clothing in most circumstances, but can be construed as damning evidence if a being's heritage is called into question for having krolvin blood.

Is Colgan Half-Krolvin? You Decide?

Colgan just arrived.

The cowl of Colgan's voluminous eelskin cloak conceals his features. The cloak does not hide his slim, long-fingered hands, which are tinted a pale blue. The hands would be elegant if not for the series of fine scars which are laced across his knuckles.

The Elves banishment from Teras Isle

The Sign

By order of Prince Eregrek Borthuum, all elves are ordered to leave Kharam Dzu forthwith. Any elf, or anybody with elven blood, found in town after the 10th day of Ivastaen will be forcibly expelled.

Prince Eregrek talks of banishing the Elves
A Post By: Maliku

Clan Leader Eregrek was about this afternoon. The dwarf appeared to briefly speak to a crowd in the Rock Garden neighborhood on Teras Isle. Not much was learned... only that the dwarf seemed to be suffering from some sort of ailment. The Prince appeared somewhat delirious and all he could talk about was banishing the elves and killing the krolvin.

Eregrek says, "Elves..."

Eregrek says, "Elves threw out my fellow dwarves..."

Taar asks, "We defend your island against the Krolvin and you kick them out?"

Eregrek says, "Doesn't matter. It's the principle of the thing."

Eregrek says, "You could be spies."

Eregrek says, "Elves love spies.."

Eregrek says, "Spies lies tries dies."

Eregrek's eyes cross briefly.

Eregrek says, "Krol...no need to fear them."

Eregrek says, "Just scouts."

Eregrek says, "Elves hurt the dwarves....cause sickness."

Eregrek says, "Kill...kr..elves."

Eregrek says, "Krol...elves."
Eregrek states he has business with the Elves

Eregrek says, "Trudok....I have business to attend to with the elves..."

Eregrek says, "You delay it."

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok say, "Return to Glaeveln and report about the......."

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok ask, "Business with the elves?"

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok say, "They were warned."

Eregrek says, "Yes...None of your concern."

Eregrek says, "You were not a worthy opponent..."

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok say, "You were a nice corpse."

Eregrek smirks at Trudok.

Eregrek says, "You'll stay dead..."

Eregrek strikes the dead body of Trudok. Flames erupt along the blade of his waraxe!
The flames engulf Trudok's body, turning it into a crackling, hissing pillar of fire!
Dark, greasy smoke stings your eyes.

When the smoke clears, the body of Trudok is gone!

Eregrek raises his broad-bladed waraxe skyward!

A bright flame runs along the edge of the waraxe!

Eregrek says, "Finish them."
